ICI has added an automated laser cutting line built around a Trumpf TruLaser 3030 featuring a 4000 watt laser, capable of cutting mild steel up to 1" thick, and an automatic pallet changer which allows for loading and unloading of material while the machine is running.

When asked about the new capabilities offered by the new laser line, Chris Needham, Production Manager, ICI, was quoted as saying, "Bringing this system online has allowed us to continue to shorten our already short cycle times and maintain or improve upon our industry-leading quality position. Trumpf was the natural choice, since they are the standard bearer for speed, quality and overall operational effectiveness in the Industrial Laser Machine industry."

The TruLaser 3030 specs are quite impressive:

                         Max speed: 2,362 in/min (parallel), 3,347 in/min (simultaneous)

The new cutting line became operational in July 2009.
