ICI now has full metallurgical inspection capabilities. With the addition of our new metrology lab, we are able to perform complete microstructure evaluations using metallographic techniques such as sectioning, mounting, polishing, chemical etching, and optical microscopy.

ICI Manufacturing began work implementing ISO 9001 several years ago, but decided not pursue certification. Late last year, however, the executive management team, with input from key customers, decided to move forward and achieve full certification as an ISO 9001 organization. ICI is making excellent progress toward this goal, and is on track for a final internal audit in December. The goal is to be certified by an ISO registrar by March 2011.

ICI Manufacturing went live on their new ERP system in early April of this year, and recently completed the full implementation of their shop floor control system. The completion of of the shop floor control phase brings this major project to a very successful close.

(ICI) will soon begin operating under the brand 'ICI Manufacturing' to better emphasize the broader manufacturing and fabrication capabilities ICI has had for years, but has not publicized well. "Industrial and decorative plating are among our core competencies, and these represent a key differentiation between us and our competition in the general manufacturing space. At the same time, though, we are so much more than plating today," said Ellis Needham, president and CEO. "Very few manufacturing companies have the ability to go from raw material to finished parts, including industrial-strength plated metal finishes such as zinc or hard chrome. We can."
